At BPS Knives, we aimed to craft a knife that merges resilience against harsh weather with razor-sharp cutting capability. Beta is a knife you can truly rely on!
To achieve this, we meticulously selected durable materials and refined them through specific treatments to deliver optimal performance. The outcome of our efforts is the Beta knife – an embodiment of strength and sharpness.

Choosing the Right Steel:

The journey of creating the Beta started with selecting the perfect steel for the blade, and our choice fell on D2 steel. After undergoing precise heat treatment, this steel reaches a Rockwell hardness of 60-61, providing it with exceptional strength and durability. D2 steel is known for its impressive edge retention and resistance to wear, making it ideal for a variety of tasks. Additionally, its high chromium content offers a substantial level of corrosion resistance.

We further enhanced the selected steel with a RAW finish grinding, giving the Beta knife a unique look while maintaining its cutting efficiency.

Micarta Handle – Our In-house Specialty:

For the handle, we turned to micarta, a composite material known for its resilience and tactile comfort. By producing micarta in our workshop, we’ve crafted the most robust and dependable handle material possible. Micarta is renowned for its excellent grip, even in wet conditions, and its stability under various environmental stresses. This material does not only provide durability but also adds aesthetic appeal to the knife.

In developing the Beta knife, a deliberate decision was made to craft it with compactness in mind, ensuring it could be comfortably carried on a daily basis. Specifically designed for easy attachment to a belt or MOLLE system equipment, the Beta knife’s size ensures it remains unobtrusive and accessible without hindering movement.
